Live Botanical Aer Hyaluronic Acid Serum
A simple yet effective blend that acts as a hydrating serum and toner in one. Mild enough for the most sensitive, reactive skin. Initially designed for oily to combination skin types though dry skin types can reap the benefits when used as a micro-emulsion with their facial oil.
Live Botanical custom blends a mix of hyaluronic acid molecular weights to optimize the skin's ability to hold water for a fresh complexion. The formula is enhanced with aloe vera and fresh distilled green tea hydrosol to clear and soothe inflammation and acne.
The cushioning effect optically smooths fine lines and makes a nice addition to prime your skin before applying makeup.
Formula notes: The sodium hyaluronate percentage is around 1% since higher dilutions tend to dry out the skin. The molecular weight does not go below 80,000 daltons due to research that extremely low weights can cause increased inflammation. Our propriety blend ensures gentle and effective hydration.
Ritual: After cleansing apply 1-2 pumps to damp or wet skin. While damp apply a small amount of facial oil to soothe inflammation.
If you have dry skin, add a pump of the hyaluronic acid to a couple drops of face oil to your palm and create a micro-emulsion. Massage together onto the skin. Follow up with another layer of just facial oil to lock in the hydration.
For an alternative use: to help the absorption of your facial oil and give a more matte effect, apply the serum as a last step over your facial oil. This is especially helpful for day use underneath makeup.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Juice*, Camellia sinensis (Green Tea) hydrosol*, Lactobacillus Ferment and Sodium Hyaluronate (vegan)
Use within 8 months of purchase.

INGREDIENT SPOTLIGHT: HYALURONIC ACID
You might think Hyaluronic Acid sounds like something that you'd find in a mechanic's shop rather than your beauty cabinet. But, despite the unapproachable name, this ingredient is one of the holy grails for keeping skin supple and youthful.
Here's How It Works:
Hyaluronic Acid is a structural component of skin and is found in connective tissue throughout the body. What makes it so special is it has the ability to hold a greater capacity of moisture than any other natural or synthetic polymer (a large molecule made up of a string of smaller molecules). So what does this mean for your skin? Well, as we age our skin loses moisture (note: this is different then having oily or dry skin, you can still lose moisture and have an oily complexion as you age). This moisture loss at a deeper tissue level causes skin to start having the tell-tale signs of aging: fine lines, dull complexion, loss of firmness. In addition, skin ailments like acne, rosacea, and sun exposure can weaken our skin's outer barrier (outer layers of the skin) causing an acceleration of aging. Hyaluronic Acid helps skin retain its moisture even down to the deeper layers (dermis) while strengthening the skin's outer barrier, which leads to softer, firmer and more even toned skin. And if you weren't already convinced, Hyaluronic Acid provides antioxidant defense against free-radicals and inflammation.
